Mission Statement

The FHR Community Investment Fund (The Fund) was established in mid-2015 by Family Housing Resources, Inc., a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, charitable organization in Tucson, AZ, established in 1991. The Fund’s mission is to assist, through grant giving, the efforts of organizations whose activities work directly for the improvement of the Tucson community, particularly in the vital area of affordable housing.

Types of grants given

Capacity building, capital projects, general support, programs, other projects.

Major areas of interest:
* Affordable Housing–Providing low-cost housing to low- to moderate-income households (incomes at or below 80% of the Area Median Income);
* Veterans Services–efforts not in replication of existing government services that respond to the unique needs of those serving or who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
* Special attention will be given to applications that demonstrate the applicant’s intention and ability to use a grant from The Fund as leverage to generate additional financial assistance.

Grant range: The initial grant from The Fund, in 2015, will be $100,000.

RESTRICTIONS

The Fund will not accept applications from/for:
* Religious organizations, for religious purposes;
* Political parties or groups centered upon politics;
* Organizations with lobbying as a major function;
* Club memberships;
* Individuals;
* Fundraising dinners;
* Purchase of advertising;
* Organizations whose philosophies, goals, activities, etc. are contrary to those of the
City of Tucson, the State of Arizona, or the United States of America.

In light of recent changes, the DEADLINE for applications has been moved back to:  5:00 PM, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2015.   We would prefer that your applications be submitted ELECTRONICALLY to (as stipulated before):   tomsanders@fhrinc.net.  Relevant attachments will be accepted.
We greatly appreciate your bearing with us as we assemble all of the moving parts in The Fund’s kick-off year.  One thing NOT subject to change is:  this year’s grant WILL be for $100,000!
