The mission of Family Housing Resources (FHR) is to assist low to moderate income families and individuals acquire decent, affordable housing. It advances that mission through its two principal divisions: the Homeownership Division, with its extremely-successful Homebuyer Education & Counseling Programs; and, the Multi-Family Residential Services Division which oversees the rental communities embracing nearly 186 living units.
FHR was established in 1991 and attained 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 1994. Its Homebuyer Education & Counseling Program was initiated in 1998. Over time, FHR’s programs and services have been supported by the Industrial Development Authorities of Pima County and City of Tucson, the Southern Arizona Land Trust, Pima County, the City of Tucson, Maricopa County, the City of Phoenix, the Arizona Department of Housing, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
FHR’s corporate offices and the Homeownership Division are located at 1700 E. Fort Lowell Rd., Suite 101. Because of its lengthy record of efficient and effective service, FHR is one of the largest and most respected providers of affordable housing in Arizona. That means that FHR’s 16 employees are dedicated to FHR’s mission and to serving its clientele.
