“I love my job at FHR”
I have a great deal of compassion for my clients, because I once stood in their shoes. Years ago, I was a recently-divorced, single mother who had just been laid off from work. With no income other than unemployment, I quickly fell behind in paying my bills, and soon my ability to keep my home was jeopardized. I endured many, many sleepless nights, wondering what I was going to do. I tried to work with the bank that held my mortgage, but they would do nothing but demand full payment of the monthly installments for which I was in arrears–plus late fees. Back then, there wasn’t the help that there is today–there was no such thing as Family Housing Resources where I could go to try to find solutions to my problems, and there were none of the alternative funding sources that now exist. Luckily, I was ultimately able to borrow enough money from a family member to save my home. Today, I love my job at FHR, because I completely understand the situations of borrowers facing financial hardships and am knowledgeable about the remedies available to them. As a result, I’m able to help families save their homes.
